In January Helen Harwood thankfully filled the gap when our expected speaker could not attend.
Helen has spoken to us several times on a wide variety of topics, and this time she chose From Holywell to Lidos: Our Love of Water. Her talk was about "swimming pools" in their various forms.
This was a talk about the ways in which we have regarded and used water over the centuries from the healing wells of Cornwall, to the hot springs at Bath, and the growth of swimming, with lidos of the 1930s for health and fitness, and the old river swimming clubs, with a focus on swimming in the river Cam.
